In days gone by the bathroom was a place where members of the family would bathe, brush teeth and wash. The first showers used in bathrooms were fitted over the bathtub and had either a hose or pipe joined to the hot and cold water taps that led to a shower head fixed above your head. A plastic curtain on plastic rings was fitted to a stainless steel rod and this was used to keep the shower water from spraying out onto the floor.
Since those early beginnings the shower has gradually improved to having plastic sliding doors on tracks fitted over bathtubs to the popular corner shower enclosure units with stainless steel shower trays.
